OUR APPROACH
With over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language, OdaMar Language School offers personalized courses designed around your current level, the length of your stay, and your individual learning goals.
Our team of teachers combines strong academic training with extensive classroom experience, ensuring lessons that are both effective and enjoyable. Each program follows a communicative and immersive approach, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), helping you gain real confidence to use Spanish in everyday life.
Courses
Within the general programs, you can choose from three types of courses:

1. The Regular Course of 1.5 hours of instruction per day from Monday to Friday.
2. The Intensive Course of 3 hours of instruction per day from Monday to Friday.
3. The Super Intensive Course of 4.5 hours or 6 hours of instruction per day from Monday to Friday.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Here’s what your program includes:
PRIVATE CLASSES
Spanish Program
Daily classes from Monday to Friday, with flexible start dates — you can begin any day of the week.
Our Spanish packages include personalized one-on-one lessons or semi-private classes for two people traveling together. Each student receives a notebook, pen, and a level-specific textbook, carefully designed and produced by our Oasis academic team.
Some programs also include small group sessions (maximum 5 students) focused on conversation practice, as well as writing and composition workshops to strengthen your overall communication skills.
CERTIFICATIONS
Our courses are officially recognized by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Bildungsurlaub (BU) Program in Germany.

Upon completion of your program, you will receive an official School certificate indicating the number of lessons completed, total hours studied, and the language level achieved during your time at Oasis / OdaMar Language School.

This certification can be applied toward academic credits, professional development requirements, or language training programs accepted by select universities and employers.

At Oasis / OdaMar, learning Spanish means joining a vibrant community. We start the week with a Monday Welcome Dinner, featuring a tasting of traditional Oaxacan dishes at one of our favorite local restaurants just steps from the school. Our Oasis Gang WhatsApp group keeps students connected to plan dinners, surf sessions, and local outings throughout the week. And every Friday, we end on a high note with Salsa Night — a fun dance class and social evening, all included in your program. It’s the perfect way to connect, celebrate, and experience the local culture — because learning Spanish is also about living it. 💃🌴
Yoga by the Sea
Our yoga classes are the perfect complement to your Spanish and surf experience — a time to reconnect with yourself, the place, and the rhythm of nature.
Held Tuesday through Thursday at 6:00 pm under the beautiful rooftop palapa at La Barca Surf House, each session invites you to unwind, stretch, and breathe deeply as the sun sets over Puerto Escondido.
Whether you’re seeking relaxation after surfing, balance for your body, or a mindful space to recharge, our yoga practice helps you live the experience to the fullest — cultivating well-being, presence, and harmony by the sea.

Stay at Rinconada Surf Houses
All Spanish Packages include the option to stay at our Rinconada Surf Houses — La Barca and El Nopal, two charming locations just one block apart. Each offers private, fully equipped apartments surrounded by lush greenery and inviting common areas — the perfect place to relax, connect, and create community.
Designed for couples, friends, or solo travelers, both houses feature swimming pools, tropical gardens, daily housekeeping, private and shared kitchens, air conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Staying at Rinconada Surf Houses allows you to immerse yourself in the full OdaMar experience, combining comfort, community, and coastal living at its best.
SPANISH FOR ALL LEVELS

BEGINNER
Our beginner courses are personalized to each student’s pace and goals, following a communicative approach designed for travelers who want to feel confident using Spanish in real situations. Depending on the season, we also offer small group conversation sessions for extra speaking practice. You’ll learn the vocabulary and expressions needed for daily life — introducing yourself, asking for information, shopping, following directions, or making hotel and restaurant reservations — all while gaining the confidence to connect and communicate in Spanish. Each class blends practical language with cultural insights, helping you understand not just what to say, but how people truly speak. It’s the perfect way to start your Spanish journey and make the most of your time in Puerto Escondido.
INTERMEDIATE
Our intermediate courses are designed for students who already have a basic foundation and want to expand their fluency and confidence in everyday communication. Lessons remain personalized and follow a communicative approach, with a strong focus on conversation, listening, and real-life interaction. Depending on the season, we include small group sessions where students can practice spontaneous dialogue and explore a wider range of topics. You’ll work on past and future tenses, connected speech, and vocabulary for travel, work, and social situations — always within a cultural context that reflects authentic Spanish use. Each class helps you move from structured conversation to natural expression, making it easier to connect with locals and live the language fully during your stay in Puerto Escondido.
ADVANCED
Our advanced courses are ideal for students who already communicate with ease and wish to refine accuracy, fluency, and cultural depth in their Spanish. Lessons are fully personalized and maintain our communicative, immersive approach, focusing on complex structures, nuanced vocabulary, and natural interaction. Depending on the season, we also offer small group discussions and writing workshops designed to strengthen argumentation, composition, and advanced comprehension skills. You’ll explore subjunctive moods, idiomatic expressions, and regional variations while engaging with authentic materials such as articles, interviews, and short films. Each class encourages you to think, express, and debate confidently in Spanish — helping you reach a level of mastery that lets you truly connect, work, and live within the Spanish-speaking world
